Installation
The SKE CLI is a single Go binary called ske, built for macOS and Linux on amd64 and arm64. No runtime dependencies required.
Quick install
Section titled “Quick install”curl -fsSL https://get.ske.io/install.sh | shThis detects your OS and architecture, downloads the latest release, and installs it to /usr/local/bin, asking for sudo when that directory isn’t writable.
The script reads these variables:
| Variable | Purpose |
|---|---|
SKE_VERSION |
Install this release instead of the latest, for example v0.1.0 |
INSTALL_DIR |
Install to this existing directory instead of /usr/local/bin |
Set them on the sh side of the pipe:
curl -fsSL https://get.ske.io/install.sh | SKE_VERSION=v0.1.0 shIn CI, download the script and then run it, so a failed download fails the step. See Using tokens in CI.
Manual download
Section titled “Manual download”Each release is a plain binary at https://get.ske.io/<version>/ske-<os>-<arch>, where <os> is linux or darwin and <arch> is amd64 or arm64. https://get.ske.io/latest holds the latest version:
# Example for Linux amd64version=$(curl -fsSL https://get.ske.io/latest)curl -fsSL "https://get.ske.io/${version}/ske-linux-amd64" -o skesudo install -m 755 ske /usr/local/bin/skeVerify
Section titled “Verify”ske versionske 1.0.0 (linux/amd64)commit abc1234built 2026-09-20T14:30:00ZSign in
Section titled “Sign in”SKE uses passwordless authentication. Run ske login and enter your email address:
ske loginEmail: [email protected]✓ Sign-in link sent. Check your email and click the link.⠋ Waiting for sign-in...✓ Signed in as [email protected]The CLI sends a magic link to your email. Click it in your browser — the CLI detects the confirmation automatically and stores your session credentials in ~/.ske/credentials.json.
CI/CD authentication
Section titled “CI/CD authentication”For automated pipelines, set the SKE_API_TOKEN environment variable instead of running ske login:
export SKE_API_TOKEN=your-api-tokenske deployAPI tokens are created from the dashboard or via the API. See API Tokens for details.
Configuration files
Section titled “Configuration files”The CLI stores configuration in ~/.ske/:
| File | Contents |
|---|---|
config.json |
API URL, current organization, current workspace |
credentials.json |
Access token, refresh token, email (mode 0600) |
ske link saves a directory’s project and default environment in .ske/project.json, kept out of git. See Quick start for setup.
